Children’s Business Fair

Children’s Business Fair is the largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America. Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at a one-day marketplace.

Sixth Street Shelter

The Sixth Street Shelter is a program that was created by the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, a non-profit organization. The Shelter’s mission is to “provide the opportunity and direction for all people to become self-sufficient, productive members of the community.” Serving families since 1984, The Sixth Street Shelter provides temporary housing for homeless families with children in the Lehigh Valley. The Shelter also helps families to set and reach goals by means of case management, in-house programming, and access to appropriate services that fit the needs of individual families. They currently offer 25 individual family apartments that include all necessary utilities.

The Kindness Project

The Kindness Project is an all-volunteer, donation based, non-profit organization created to provide support to foster families in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas by supplying clothing, furniture and other essential items free of charge to children in foster care. Many children enter foster care with nothing but the clothing they are wearing. The Kindness Project works to defray any financial burden, especially in emergency placement situations, where buying items like cribs, strollers, car seats, and diapers can add up very quickly.

Rachelle Gershkovich

Rachelle Gershkovich

Rachelle was 17 when she realized she had a gift for nurturing and soothing infants while also getting them to sleep longer. She began working part-time as a night nanny through her sister’s nannying agency and continued this work through college. As a nanny, Rachelle realized that infants often can sense anxiety in their parents and caregivers. She learned how to reset her own internal nervous system to reach a real sense of calm, so she could help the infant do the same. Most nannies, doulas, and infant care specialists get their insights from having their own children. Rachelle, however, was able to develop a specialized approach that works for every baby through her infant care working with many diverse families and children.

Through nursing courses, Rachelle discovered the undeniable value of nutrition and switched her major to Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Combining her experience with new parents, babies, nannying, and nutrition, she was able to bring a restful night’s sleep to every home. After graduation, she officially founded Maternal Instincts in 2010. Rachelle has served over 5,000 families through her sleep groups and as a night nanny, newborn care specialist, doula, and sleep specialist. She has worked with newborns, multiples, and high-risk infants. Rachelle has supported families who were dealing with heart surgery recovery, feeding tubes, oxygen, colic, allergies, reflux, and more! Today, with nearly a decade of service through Maternal Instincts, Rachelle’s goal is to end sleep deprivation for babies AND parents, and to make parenthood a more restful, harmonious, and loving experience. Gabriella G

Hello, families! My name is Gabriella, and I am currently studying Biology Education! I have five years of formal babysitting/nannying experience, with many more years of caring for my younger siblings and cousins. I have experience with all age groups, with most experience at the early and late elementary age. As a future educator, I also have abundant tutoring experience (K-12) and am more than happy to help with any educational needs! I never shy away from light housework, meal prep, transportation, pet-sitting, etc, so don’t be afraid to ask!

Hi, I’m Summer! I am a college student. I have been babysitting for six years and love hanging out with and caring for kids.

My name is Samantha. I am a single mother of three sons. My two sons are adopted from Colombia, South America. I have an Early Childhood Education degree and a Social Work degree. I have worked in child welfare, foster care, adoption, and mental health. I was a stay-at-home mother for fourteen years. My middle son has mild autism and ADHD. I am very knowledgeable about resources in the community and the Lehigh Valley area. For the past four years, I have worked as an intervention teacher for a local school district and supported children in learning support classrooms.

Enthusiastic & diligent caregiver to children of all ages & abilities! Available weekday afternoons and evenings. Eight years of experience with special needs individuals. Pet Friendly.

Starting with experience in babysitting and watching my younger cousins and sisters, my passion for working with kids grew into a career goal. I went to DeSales University and graduated with a BS in Computer Science. Though I had a degree in the design field, I felt the pull to the caregiving field. I decided to get my clearances and try out working in the preschool system. After about two years of this, I sought a better ratio.I believe that children thrive when given more attention and the tools needed to turn struggles into stepping stones.

I’ve lived in the Lehigh Valley area for almost my entire life and have gotten to know the community and local centers well through leisure, work, and volunteer time. I have a big, cuddle monster dog who loves running around and playing outside more than any treat in the world. And to finish this off, here’s a new word of the day: eclectic, and it means to have views, ideas, tastes, and styles deriving from all over, and I think if you need a word to describe me, that’s the one!

Gabriela M

Hi! I am currently an occupational therapy student. I have experience as a caretaker in schools and group homes, working with various individuals with various special needs. I have taken care of several dog breeds and have a pup of my own; she is a Shihtzu. As a TNL babysitter, I can attest that caring for others is my second nature. I am passionate about being there for others and helping as much as possible. I love spending time with my family, going on walks, going to the gym, and playing with animals.

Hello! My name is Maddie and I’ve been working in childcare for about 5 years. My goal is to radiate positivity and kindness onto everyone I come across!

I have experience with infants and special needs care. I have worked with children of all ages and I am completely comfortable with pets in the home.
