Dilia Coppedge, Founder / President of The Nanny Loft, a registered 501c3 Nanny Referral Agency, has experienced firsthand the challenges families and nannies face when establishing strong working relationships.
Before graduating with her bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in social services, Dilia worked as a nanny and volunteered at a camp for abandoned, abused and neglected children. These experiences helped shape her understanding of the powerful impact caregivers can have on the entire family.
Dilia’s passion for working with children and helping the most underserved and vulnerable in our community led her to a career as a social worker for the New Jersey Division of Child Protection & Permanency, where she still works today.
One of Dilia’s primary responsibilities as a resource family support worker is to evaluate potential foster parents through a process that includes extremely detailed assessments, multiple home visits, and conversations with applicants’ families, friends, coworkers, and doctors. Dilia thoroughly appraises each family’s ability to safely, appropriately and compassionately care for the state’s most vulnerable children. With nearly two and half decades of experience working with DCP&P, Dilia has developed a keen, intuitive ability to assess potential caregivers from every angle.
As she witnessed countless friends and family members struggle to find reliable, safe childcare providers, Dilia leveraged her experience in child welfare to launch The Nanny Loft Foundation in 2016. This marked the culmination of a life spent devoted to charitable and professional services to vulnerable children and families in need.
Today, Dilia’s vision serves as the cornerstone for The Nanny Loft’s rigorous candidate-selection process, positioning the organization as the foremost nanny-referral agency for Lehigh County communities.
